Support diversity, inclusion and indigenous recognition

What It Means

We believe that communities and businesses thrive when there are a diversity of thoughts and people feel valued irrespective of their personal circumstances. It is estimated that an inclusive workforce is five times more likely to innovate*. At Goodman Fielder, we recognise and strive to be a future fit business by building an understanding in our team about how they can have a positive impact. Within and beyond our immediate workforce, we acknowledge and respect the richness and value of the indigenous cultures in the countries in which we operate. We respect the different circumstances of indigenous communities across the region and are committed to taking meaningful action across all markets.

What We’ve Achieved

In Australia, we annually report our Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) performance. Our diversity program also supports gender-based issues, and we recently removed outdated gender stereotypes from our White Wings packaging in recognition of this. We proudly support Career Trackers who offer support systems, pathways and opportunities for local indigenous people to find employment. Additionally, using the sister program Career Seekers, we provide corporate experience for refugees and asylum seekers who are finding it difficult to start new careers. This partnership also benefits our local staff by offering them exposure to new cultures and different perspectives.

What’s Next

In 2021, we will be developing a Diversity, Inclusion and Recognition Plan. The plan will be about more than just staff training and education it will be a vehicle by which we can magnify the impact of our efforts. This is an opportunity for Goodman Fielder to build on our solid foundations and take an innovative approach to advancing our practises within our business, and with our stakeholders.
