600g premium beef mince
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
3 tablespoons HP sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt & pepper to taste
Oil for frying
4 slices of cheddar cheese
4 lettuce leaves
1 tomatoes, sliced
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
12 slices of gherkin
450g can sliced beetroot, drained
4 teaspoons American mustard
4 teaspoons tomato sauce
4 teaspoons mayonnaise
4 Mackenzie Sprouted Grain Burger Buns
In a large bowl, combine all beef patty ingredients. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape.
Cook patties in a fry pan with a little olive oil or on the barbecue. Cook for 3 and 1/2 minutes on one side and then flip. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top and leave to cook for a further 3 and 1/2 minutes.
Pour a generous glug of olive oil into a non-stick fry pan over a medium heat. Once hot, carefully crack the eggs into the pan and fry until crispy.
On a barbecue or in a skillet pan, grill the burger buns until golden brown.
To serve, smear mayonnaise on the base of each burger bun. Top with lettuce, sliced red onion, patty, beetroot, fried egg, gherkins, tomato sauce, American mustard and top half of burger bun.
